So, it's been a long time since I've posted here! A lot has changed since I was last on xanga. I had actually completely forgotten about it, but recently one of my friends posted some song lyrics to her xanga and I got the automated e-mail that comes whenever a friend updates, so I figured I'd update this thing again...

I doubt I'll be back here often, if ever, so consider this my final post for good ol' xanga...

quick movie update:

Prince Caspian--if you loved the books and you're somewhat of a purist, don't bother. Well-made, well-acted movie, but diverges from Lewis' story so much that it was incredibly disappointing.

Indiana Jones 4--First sequel I've seen that puts all three of its prequels to shame! Great movie, well done, well acted, excellent storyline.

So this summer promises to be filled with excellent food...

A couple friends who are staying here all summer and working for Bryan, one from the Dominican and one from Canada, both want to come cook for all the guys at our house this summer. So every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday they'll come cook for us and then on Sundays I'll cook for them. Good food... yeah! Tonight Mavelyn made us this really good spicy chicken dish over rice. On Monday Jenifer made us a casserole with chicken, red sauce, and pasta. All we have to do is buy the food...

Working on my next website... spent the day building the logo graphic for the header of the website. You can see the graphic at www.sdgproductions.com/hawklures/graphics/top_full.gif. Hopefully I can get the website done sometime this week.

Friday a bunch of us are gonna go see the new Narnia movie. Fun times.

I start my new job at Bryan on Monday. My official job-title is "Media Assistant to the Advancement Department" but it basically means I'll be doing a LOT of random stuff. Sounds like its right up my alley.

Filled my truck with gas today... so far I'm averaging 11 mpg which is totally horrible. I'm gonna get the exhaust system rebuilt for about $200 which I'm told should give me 4-5 more mpg. But, that's also been in-town driving and a lot of moving people around with school ending. Hopefully now that that's pretty much done I can stretch it to 13 mpg even before the exhaust modification... that's gotta wait for a while till I get some expendable income which may be several months away at this point.

Reading the complete works of Mark Twain this summer as my fun-reading. Aside from Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn I haven't read much of his stuff. At least, none of it in its unabridged format.

Gonna go visit RP on Sunday since I've got a vehicle now and am able to do so. Looking forward to that; it's been a while since I've been down there.

And so it begins... The long, lonely summer when very few people remain in Dayton.

The class of 2008, the class I came in with, graduated a couple hours ago. Josh Franklin, Tyler Gay, Caleb Fendrich, Paul Guttacker, Paige Ratzlaff, Jessie Hundley, Brandon Hodge, Lawrence LaPlue, just to name a few of the folks with whom I've enjoyed life at Bryan over the last four years. It seems like a lifetime ago that we all came onto campus here at Bryan as freshmen... unsure of what to do. The many long hours spent sitting in the Triangle discussing professors, classes, theology, biology, and so much more. The leadership retreats we've been on together. The people we've seen come and go: professors, staff, and students alike. And now they're leaving. The largest graduating class in Bryan's history (or so they say). I'm happy that they're done, but it's kinda sad to see them all leave, too.

But in a few short months the next class comes in. Everyone returns, and the fun begins once more. Only this time it'll be a little different for me since I won't be a student (how weird is it to be a "junior" and yet not a student for my last year of school?)

I hope this summer passes as quickly as this semester did. Last summer seemed to last a lifetime. But now I'll be working a new job and having plenty of fun with that, so maybe it'll help to while away the time.

And now I'm tired. Had a long, but fun day yesterday out at Pocket, was up late with friends, and then up again at 6:30 this morning to help prep for graduation. I think I'm going to relax and put on a movie.

So yes, it's 3:30 AM and I'm still up... I honestly can't remember the last time I was up this late.

Just finished cleaning up from the Bryan Bye-Bye Bash... It was a smashing success!

Yes, we made too much pizza and waaay too much queso, but I think we had about 500 people come through in the course of the evening and it was definitely a blast for everyone. Ben Johnson wants to make it an annual thing.

I just finished a shower and I'm finally starting to get seriously drowsy and my phone is beeping at me and telling me its got a very low battery, so I think I'm gonna hit the sack and sleep for a while...
